Thank you, Heather, for sharing your creativity with me. Really, one day, I'm gonna come live with you and that will just be so much fun!

Simply Soft Card Sample

Here is another convention swap I received this summer! This card reminds me of, "Calgon, take me away." It's so feminine, soft, and lovely that it makes me want to drink chamomile tea and stare out the window, contemplating the meaning of life! And then reality hits and I'm back to figuring out what I'm going to cook for dinner and how I'm going to get eight loads of laundry done because everyone needs clean clothes! Sound like your life? This lovely card was made by Kirsteen Gill, a member of The TOPICS! I LOVE YOUR CARD, Kirsteen! Thank you for giving me one even though I didn't have one to give you - you're a sweetheart!

Array of Sunshine Card Sample

Here is another card I received as a swap from the convention. WOW! I think this is the prettiest sample I've seen using the Array of Sunshine stamp set! You have to be patient to sit and cut out all of those flowers - and I just don't know if I'm that patient anymore, but I sure enjoy looking at it when someone else has done all the work! I got this beautiful swap from Jennifer Gulch! She was also a Rising Star this year - CONGRATULATIONS, JENNIFER - and thanks for your amazing swap!

Stamping at Ooh La La!

Last Thursday I went up to Ooh La La and stamped cute cupcake birthday cards with people who were buying cupcakes that afternoon! The atmosphere at Ooh La La is so wonderful and with all the sweet treats available, it's just a super-fun place to hang out! Vanessa O'Donnell, the owner/pastry chef of Ooh La La was kind enough to let me share my love of stamping with Ooh La La's patrons! I had a GREAT time, thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, and came home with a KILLER cherry pie! I will be heading back there again during the upcoming holidays to stamp some Christmas goodies with everyone! Thanks, Vanessa, and the Ooh La La employees for your kindness, your hospitality, the delicious treats, and a fun afternoon!
I had FUN! Can't wait to go back again!

Build-A-Bear Gift

Well, now, if this ain't the cutest, I don't know what is! I'm a very lucky person because I'm friends with Heather Klump - and Heather Klump is an Artisan Award winner this year for Stampin' Up! Heather creates incredible things that I could ONLY dream about in my wildest dreams and she's always happy to share her ideas with others. I love that about her! Check out Heather's blog at www.hlkdownstairsdesigns.blogspot.com and you will be blown away by her talent! I'll just sit and bask in the glow of her glory - and then copy everything she does! Ha! Heather gave me this adorable gift at the convention. She made this cute little purse with a Build-A-Bear stamp on the tag, and on the inside was an adorable little outfit she made to actually put on a Build-A-Bear! It has pockets and everything and is just so darn cute! I guess I'll have to get a Build-A-Bear now lest this precious outfit will go to waste! LOVE YOU, HEATHER! I'm so proud to have one of your creations!

Patterned Party Card Sample

Here's the third card we made at my July home workshops. I am falling much harder than I ever imagined for Calypso Coral. This card was fun to make - it's playful and bright! The balloons were inked up with all of the New In Colors. Hope you like it! I cased it from.....um.....I dunno! There's no name or watermark on the original picture I copied! SORRY!

A to Z Card Sample

Here's the second card we made at my July home workshops. I just love this style of card. The base is Crumb Cake card stock; the "4" is Lucky Limeade card stock; and the heart is Pink Pirouette card stock. For stamps, I used "A to Z"; the "Just Perfect Alphabet"; and "On Your Birthday." The inks were Early Espresso and Soft Suede. And you just can't forget the Pearl Jewels! I cased this card from Carrie Gaskin! Isn't it lovely?

Monday, August 1, 2011

Hello! Did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth? I kind of did! After coming back from the convention, I hit the floor running 100 miles an hour each day and have been INSANELY busy, but things are starting to smooth out now, so I can begin posting again! During July I did several home workshops that were loads of fun - and this is one of the cards I featured at those workshops. I can thank Chrystyna Bryndzia for this card - it was one that she wanted to do - and it's been a big hit! Use your 1-3/8" and 1-1/4" Square Punches and corner-round two opposite corners. What's fun about this card is that you can easily use your paper scraps. Even your designer series paper scraps would look awesome! Change out the middle embellishment and change out the greeting and you've got a wonderful card - you just can't go wrong with it! I used Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, and Wisteria Wonder card stock - and the adorable new stamp set called "Friendly Phrases" for the greeting! I love the font of this stamp set and I will be using it often! The middle decoration is our Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and our Flower Designer Brads. For some extra bling (which you know I like) I placed a rhinestone in the center! C-U-T-E! Go make one - it will make you happy!
