Fiji Trip

I am getting really excited now!  My Fiji trip with Stampin' Up! is just around the corner!  I went to the bank to convert some American dollars into Fijan dollars and I was surprised at how pretty their money is!  It's colorful and fun and I almost don't want to spend it!  Thanks to all of my customers and my amazing downline who helped me earn this trip.  It is, without a doubt, a trip of a lifetime.  I can't imagine that I would ever make it to Fiji, but with Stampin' Up!, it became a dream come true!  Unfortunately, my husband is not able to accompany me on this trip.  We still have a daughter in high school and there are some other reasons he can't go as well (primarily an elderly wiener dog who would get really sick if we were both gone), so I'm taking my sister on this trip!  I know there are some wonderful cocktails, embellished with little umbrellas, that are just waiting for us in the South Pacific!  Wish I could take all of you in my back pocket and we could enjoy this trip together!  Great pictures to come later, but for now.......Bula, my friends!

Secret Garden Card

I have to admit that when I first saw the "Secret Garden" stamp set and framelits in our Spring Mini, I wasn't jumping for joy.  It just wasn't my kind of stamp set, but I've quickly changed my mind!  After seeing so many beautiful uses of this stamp set, of course I had to order it, too, and make some of those beautiful cards!  This is one of the cards I had to make.  It's a variation of a card that was designed by Jen Mitchell and it's probably my favorite use of the "Secret Garden" stamp set.  Simple and clean.....and so perfect!  One of my stamping buddies, Ryleigh, added the "Hello" from the "My Friend" stamp set and I melted!  I offered this card at my April Camp Wannastamp.  The recipe is below.  All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Paper:  Whisper White - 11 X 4-1/4; Calypso Coral - 5-1/4 X 4; Whisper White - 5-1/8 X 3-7/8; Whisper White - 4-1/4 X 3-3/4 (for the Secret Garden Framelits)
Stamps:  Secret Garden; My Friend
Inks:  Soft Suede; Pretty in Pink
Miscellaneous:  Bone Folder; SNAIL Adhesive; Stampin' Dimensionals; Calypso Coral Twine - 25" long and 4" long; Craft Scissors; Stamp-a-ma-jig; Secret Garden Framelits; Big Shot Machine; Mini Glue Dots; Vintage Faceted Buttons

Nature's Pace Card

Wouldn't you agree that this is a lovely card?  It was designed by Melissa Davies.  I've had the "Nature's Pace" stamp set for a while, but hadn't used it......until I saw this card that I just had to copy!  Since I registered for Paper Pumpkin, I am delighted that I now have the adorable "Hey There Friend" stamp set that I can use on whatever I like.  It works well on this card!  I offered this card at my April Camp Wannastamp.  The recipe is below.  All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Paper:  Very Vanilla - 11 X 4-1/4; Very Vanilla - 3 X 2-1/4; Summer Starfruit scrap; Very Vanilla scrap

Secret Garden/Dress Up Framelits Card

Did you ever play with paper dolls when you were little?  I may have.......maybe for one day.....but I've been playing paper dolls now as an adult!  I cut out a whole bunch of dresses using different Designer Series Paper and the Dress Up Framelits and I caught myself giggling!  Who says I'm too old to play dress up?  I've been having fun!  I offered this card at my April Camp Wannastamp.  I'm not sure who the original designer was for this card.  The recipe is below.  All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Paper:  Very Vanilla - 11 X 4-1/4; Very Vanilla - 5-1/4 X 4; Natural Composition Designer Series Paper - 5 X 2

Twisted Card

Well, isn't this fun?  This is called a twisted card!  All you do is measure 10-1/8 X 4-1/4 (so it will fit into an envelope) and then score it diagonally from corner to corner.  Fold it on the score line and then score it again in the middle.  Voila!  There's your twisted card!  What's fun about it is that you can easily place a gift card or money on the inside, so it becomes a card and a gift in one!  LOVE IT!  I offered this card at my April Camp Wannastamp.  The recipe is below.  All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Paper:  Very Vanilla - 10-1/8 X 4-1/4 - score diagonally from corner to corner, fold on the score line, and then score in the middle; Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper - 5 X 2 - cut diagonally from corner to corner; Very Vanilla scrap and Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper scrap for the flower

From My Heart Box Card

I usually go for simple cards - that's what I like the best and I don't like fussing with it - but this type of card is so unique and fun, I just had to give it a try!  At the Leadership Conference in January, attending demonstrators were shown how to make this box card.  I wasn't able to go, but my recruit Benedicte was kind enough to share it with our group.  It also showcases the chalkboard technique, which everyone is crazy about right now!  I offered this card at my April Camp Wannastamp.  The recipe is below.  All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Paper:  Baja Breeze - 10-1/4 X 8-1/2; score at 2-1/8, 3-5/8, 6-5/8 and 8-1/8 on the 10-1/4" side.  Score at 1-1/2 and 7 on the 8-1/2" side.  On the 10-1/4" side, score diagonally at 5-1/8 until it intersects with the first score line - flip the card stock over and score again diagonally at 5-1/8.  This needs to be done on both sides of the card.  Basic Black - 5-1/4 X 2-3/4 (for the inside greeting); Baja Breeze - 5-1/4 X 1-7/8 (for the embossed edges); Baja Breeze - 10 X 1-1/4 (for the belly band); Basic Black - 4 X 2-3/4 (for the oval greeting); Rose Red scrap (for the heart)
