Botanical Gazette 3D Book!

When I was looking on Stampin' Connection one day - which is a site dedicated to Stampin' Up! demonstrators - I came across this incredible 3D book and was chomping at the bit to make one. I purchased the tutorial from http://www.butternutsagedesigns.blogspot.com/. I'm not at liberty to share the instructions with you. If you would like those details, you will need to purchase the tutorial directly from that blog. I changed my book a bit - just some of the colors used so they would coordinate nicely with the Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper. I also changed the book dimensions to accommodate full-sized cards and envelopes. I believe the original tutorial is for notecard-sized cards and envelopes. I also purchased library pockets to go on the inside cover of my book and then placed a piece from the Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper into the library pocket (the paper that resembles a library card). Isn't it wonderful? I could sit and look at it all day. This kind of thing makes me happy. We made this 3D book at my Spring is in Full Swing Camp Wannastamp and then placed our "Nature Walk" cards into the book. Life is good! All Holidays Card Sample - Easter!

I hear through the grapevine that I'm being called a "clean, but classy" stamper! NO PROBLEM! I think clean and classy is probably my favorite form of stamping. Sweet Summer Card Sample!

I have a recruit, Kirsteen Gill, who asked to borrow my Scallop Square Die - AND LOOK WHAT SHE MADE! Isn't it FUN???? This stamp set is the Sweet Summer Sale-A-Bration stamp set that you can get free with a $50 purchase right now! Kirsteen folded her Whisper White card stock in half and then placed it right underneath the top of the Scallop Square Die so it would leave the fold intact. She then ran another Whisper White piece through the die and adhered it to the front, so that there are actually three layers, with two of the layers on top of each other. She then punched through the two top pieces of card stock with our Decorative Label Punch so she could suspend the butterflies between the two layers with clear thread! She cut out all of those little flowers and placed them strategically around to create a beautiful flower garden! Love it, love it, love it, Kirsteen! Thank you for making ME one! I'm so happy to have it!

Drama This Week!

There's been LOTS going on at my house this week! Monday night, my son had a softball game and was hit in the left upper cheek by a softball as he was running across home plate! I absolutely froze in my tracks because when it hit him, it sounded just like the ball had hit a cement wall! Poor Hunter momentarily lost his hearing and kind of stumbled around a little bit, but in his usual fashion started insisting that he was okay. OKAY????? I think NOT! His left cheek started swelling and within an hour his eye started turning black. Of course we put ice on it, but his cheek has been swollen most of the week and is finally starting to go down. That black eye, though, is going to hang around for awhile! After a CT scan, we learned that he fractured the eye orbit. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there, Hunter! You're a trooper and everyone on the Kirksey ball team said you took that hit like a champ! They are also thanking you for "taking one for the team"! They won the game, by the way!
