2009 Christmas Card Workshop!

Here's one of the beautiful cards we made at the Christmas Card Workshop this year! I got this wonderful idea from my stamping friend Elizabeth Hurst! Isn't it just luscious? The recipe is below. Christmas Lunchbag Scrapbook!

I've been making SO MANY Christmas items lately in anticipation of the Santa's Workshop I'll be offering in December! Here's an item I love! While it's not one of the items I'll be featuring at my Santa's Workshop, I still wanted to share it because I think it's so darn cute! It's just a standard lunchbag - and all lunchbags vary in size, so I can't really give you the recipe! You'll just have to grab a bag and measure it to determine the size of your little inserts that fit into the openings! Once I folded the bag in half, I cut a tad off the closed side (the bottom of the bag) to create an opening. Then I placed two inserts in each opening, allowing lots of space for Christmas photos or keepsakes! Isn't it just the cutest thing you've ever seen? And it's so easy to make! Many of you will remember years ago the bigger lunchbag scrapbook I made that I keep under lock and key so it won't get damaged! I'll place that scrapbook on my blog soon 'cause it's a goody! Chrystyna Bryndzia's Home Workshop!

Here is one of the cards we made at Chrystyna's home workshop - and it's a marquee card! When you open it, the little curtains inside the circle move to the side to reveal a surprise underneath! What may not show up in the photo is that the Real Red card stock and the Kraft card stock were wheeled with the Sassy Sparkles wheel. The Christmas tree is all sparkly with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter! Chrystyna Bryndzia's Home Workshop!

Here is one of the cards we made at Chrystyna's home workshop! This card makes me melt and it might just have to be my Christmas card this year! I love using nontraditional Christmas colors - and this card fits the bill! I rubbed the outside edges of this card along the Gold Encore pad - and it looks so classy! Recipe:

Paper: Kraft - 6-1/2 X 6-1/2; Very Vanilla - 6-1/4 X 3 (2). I placed the vanilla pieces on the inside of the card. The vanilla piece on top covers up the brad holes you're going to make and the bottom vanilla piece makes your handwriting easier to see! I also outlined the inside vanilla pieces with the Gold Encore Pad

Tina Gorcie's Home Workshop!

When Tina hosted a home workshop, we made a beautiful snowflake 4-pack! We bundled all four cards together with the envelopes, tied a beautiful white organza ribbon around the whole bundle, and attached a coordinating snowflake tag! It makes a very sweet and special handmade Christmas gift for someone - or NOT - maybe you'd like to keep it yourself! The recipe is below! Forget-Me-Not Camp Wannastamp!

This project was so much fun! For the Forget-Me-Not Camp Wannastamp, we made 12 birthday cards using the Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin' Kit and then embellished one of the Forget-Me-Not Card Keepers! The 12 cards are reflected above, as well as the keeper! What a sweet handmade Christmas gift for someone, if you can bear to part with it! I think I'll just keep mine! I got this wonderful idea from my friend Julie Kasper from Chicago! I changed her cards slightly by adding brads and adding designer paper to the tabs on the dividers. Thanks, Julie! Two Nice Fall Cards!

Here are two fall cards you might enjoy seeing! They make me look forward to Thanksgiving - and pumpkin pie - if I can get a piece before my son Hunter eats it all! Pumpkin pie is his favorite! The first card uses a technique called thumping! I inked up my tree in Old Olive and then used a Ruby Red marker, a Really Rust marker, and a More Mustard marker and "thumped" the brush-tip side around on the Old Olive tree before I actually put it to paper! That picks up a nice spectrum of fall colors on the stamp so it looks like a real fall tree! I hope you can see those extra colors in the photo! All supplies used and shown are from Stampin' Up!

Samples of Christmas Cards!

I've been making Christmas cards - it's been a FUN TIME! During the process of planning my annual Christmas Card Workshop, I had to make lots of samples to see which ones were my favorites to offer this year! THESE SAMPLES ARE NOT THE CARDS WE'LL BE MAKING AT THE CHRISTMAS CARD WORKSHOP, but they're so cute, I wanted you to enjoy them, too! They've all been cased directly from http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ or were inspired by Splitcoast! Some of the cards have texturing on them from the Big Shot, which you can't see in the photo; so if you see a large empty space, it's probably got texturing on it - and it's beautiful!

If you'd like to host a party in your home, just pick three of your favorites from these samples, invite your girlfriends over, and we'll have a great time ringing in the season! I'll offer three of these cards at no charge for a group of 15 or less! You get the fudge and hot cocoa together and I'll do the rest! Some Halloween Extras!

Isn't this Frankenstein just the cutest thing you've ever seen! I received this card from my stampin' buddy, Danielle Adams, and I ran home and immediately put him on my mantel! It's a 3 X 3 card - and I think Danielle used the 1" circle punch and the 3/4" circle punch for his eyes, and the 3/4" circle punch for his nose. His hair is our Scallop Edge Punch! CUTE, DANIELLE!

I've also taken a picture of my Halloween tree, just for fun! Halloween is going to be over way too fast for my liking!

I also attempted to make some of the witch's hats you've been seeing all over, and I must admit there's a bit of a learning curve that goes along with it! My hats didn't turn out spectacularly well, but I had fun making them! You start with a 3-1/2" circle, cut it directly in half, line the outer curved edges with Sticky Strip (and also halfway up one of the straight sides), and then you roll the curved edge along the bottom of a mini peanut butter cup about 1/4" up from the bottom of the cup. It creates a cone! I didn't like having part of the cup showing, so I wrapped ribbon around mine and secured it with Sticky Strip. Then I used our Scallop Punch for the bottom of the hat! I wish I had put stars and glitter all over my hats - oh, well, maybe next year!!!! I'm done with Halloween and on to my Christmas planning!

Fright Night Camp Wannastamp!

Oh, wow! This project REALLY gets me in the mood for Halloween! Isn't it just downright fun? I love the fact that I can make projects like this in the comfort of my own home using fabulous Stampin' Up! products! I saw a sample of this witch's hat on a display board at the convention this past summer and I knew immediately I'd have to make it for my Fright Night Camp Wannastamp! Fright Night Camp Wannastamp!

Here's a cute little candy caddy for all the trick-or-treaters in your life! This is one of the items we made at the Fright Night Camp Wannastamp! You use the Box #2 Big Shot die! Cut off the little flaps on the sides and then cut off part of the flap on the lid; stick two boxes together with Sticky Strip; and you get a nice little candy caddy!
