Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

I have been wanting to try our Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps for the longest time, so tonight I began the process! The picture above shows the mess I made in my kitchen, but I really enjoyed using the cookie stamps! It was fun - and now I'm hooked! I'm eager to see the next set of cookie stamps Stampin' Up! will excite us with!
I used the sugar cookie recipe that comes with the cookie stamps. It's a very simple recipe and it was easy to use with the cookie stamps. Here's my raw cookie dough bunny! Can you tell my cookie sheet is dearly loved? It's been used for years.
Here are my finished flower and bunny cookies! They turned out surprisingly well and I am impressed with how they taste! There's also a shortbread recipe that comes with the cookie stamps and it is VERY good! I like being able to combine two things I love: baking and stamping! Thanks, Stampin' Up!, for bringing stamping into my kitchen! I had fun tonight and I am eager to make more stamped cookies - after all, I'm the stamp lady, so my cookies should be stamped! To order these fun cookie stamps, visit my 24/7 online store at www.pennythomas.stampinup.net and click on "Shop Now." You'll be stamping cookies in no time!

He is Risen Home Decor

I have a sweet friend who just recently had a birthday - and she also LOVES purple! I know how much her faith means to her, so I thought she'd enjoy having this on her desk for daily inspiration. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the little flourish on the right is decorated with tiny little pearls and the quilled flowers are made in different shades of purple. The actual picture is only about 3-1/2 X 2-3/4. I like this and I'll have to make another one in soft pastel colors to have out for Easter. Just thought I'd share!

Haley is 17!

When your youngest turns 17, it makes you realize that YOU'RE OLD! I can't believe Haley is 17. Seems just like six months ago that I was carrying her around constantly on my hip! I miss that and I'd give ANYTHING to have one more day just like that again! Haley has developed into an elegant and sweet young lady and I am so proud of her. Happy birthday, Haley - the world is yours! Whatever it is you want in life, GO GET IT! You deserve happiness and love and I know it's out there waiting for you! Haley wanted to spend her birthday at the Houston Zoo! She loves animals. It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day on her birthday, so it was a perfect day for the zoo. She also wanted to have dinner at the Mason Jar, so we did! We had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday!

Tagtastic 3D Sample

We made this EXACT same purse in January at my Valentine's Day Camp Wannastamp, so if you'd like the recipe, I have it posted there. This time, I made it with the Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and I think it turned out so pretty! It would make a lovely Mother's Day project or wedding project! Just wanted to share!

Four-Leaf Clover Card Sample

Every once in a while I'll design a card that I really like! Doesn't happen very often - and when I do design something, it's usually very simple. Nevertheless, I love how this card turned out. I made the four-leaf clover using the Small Heart Punch and just joined the points of the hearts together. I ran them through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder. One Rhinestone Jewel in the center looks really cute! The stem is from the "Send Me Soaring" stamp set and the cute little ladybug is from the "Furry Folk" stamp set - and yes, I bought that set JUST to get that cute little ladybug. Have you ever done that before? I'm guilty........but I just had to have her!

The little Red Glimmer Paper heart just makes the whole card perfect! Thank you, Judy! I love your card!

Okay........isn't SHE fun???? Some of my customers weren't too keen on making a bird, but once they got into it, they had a great time making her! I JUST LOVE HER! Elegant Lines Valentine's Day Card Sample

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU! I have a very good friend, Judith Walker, who is an amazing homemaker, seamstress, cook, and paper-crafter. She absolutely loves working with her hands. She is very particular and meticulous and she creates masterpieces like this when she works! She sent me this lovely Valentine's Day card and when I opened the envelope, I was breathless! It is stunning to see this card in real life. She scored lines down the top layer so she'd know right where to sew those hearts on. Don't you agree this is a masterpiece? It reminds me of a quote by John Ruskin: When love and skill come together, expect a masterpiece. I am so proud and lucky to have one of Judith's masterpieces! Happy Valentine's Day to YOU, Judith. You have a beautiful heart, my friend, and your masterpiece has melted mine!

Tagtastic Card Sample

I was so excited when I received this card in the mail! Concord Crush and Melon Mambo really POP when you use them together - and you don't receive many "purple" cards, so this was a hit with me! My recruit and friend, Benedicte Richard, sent me this card and I'm so happy to have it! Thank you, Benedicte, for making my day with your kind note! You are SPECIAL, my friend!

Fresh Vintage Home Decor Sample

One of my favorite things to do with my stamp sets is to create home decor items. It's such an inexpensive way to decorate a shelf or mantel and one more way that you can get your money's worth from the stamp sets you've invested in. I'm totally in love with the Sale-A-Bration set "Fresh Vintage" and I thought it would look lovely in this frame. I used Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Peach Parfait, and Poppy Parade markers to ink up the stamp. This is sitting on my fireplace mantel and now I feel all dressed up! Stamps, inks, and card stock do me a world of good - and they can for you, too! To order these impressive products, visit my 24/7 online store at www.pennythomas.stampinup.net and click on "Shop Now." Your fireplace mantel will thank you!

Take it to Heart Card Sample

I love how girly-girl this card is. I saw a card very similar to this made by Connie Collins quite a while back and I changed it to use our current products. You simply ink up your brayer with our Vanilla Craft Ink and roll it ever so gently across the embossing. The ink sticks to the raised portions of the embossing, creating a very elegant look! We made this card at my Love Potion No. 9 Camp Wannastamp and my Top Picks Day. The recipe is below. Mocha Morning Card Sample

WOW! I returned home yesterday from the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in San Antonio and I found THIS in my mailbox! What a nice welcome home! This is a thank-you note that was sent to me by Carolyn Gray, one of my recruits in The TOPICS!, and it is simply elegant, don't you agree? Carolyn used Basic Black card stock, Cherry Cobbler card stock, as well as the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper. To make the flower, you punch out six scallop circles using our Scallop Circle Punch. Then you crinkle each scallop circle to get texture - and don't be shy, really crinkle them up! Place the scallop circles on top of each other, pierce a hole in the center, and then position your Antique Brad into it to hold them all together. Carolyn, this card is stunning, and so are you, my friend! To order these amazing products, visit my 24/7 online store at www.pennythomas.stampinup.net and click on "Shop Now." Have a fun day!

Delightful Dozen Card Sample

My last post was a simple Christmas thank-you note that I really like! I wanted to make thank-you notes to my downline members this past weekend when we had our Top Picks Day to celebrate their achievements over the past six months, so I used the same design and created this simple thank-you note! I love how it turned out! The colors are striking and the Silver Glimmer Paper adds lots of bling! The greeting is from "Delightful Dozen" and the heart was made using our new framelits, the Hearts Collection. Then I embossed the heart with our new Adorning Accents Embossing Folders. Fun new stuff to play with! If you haven't RSVP'd to attend my Love Potion No. 9 Camp Wannastamp to be held January 26th through the 29th, I still have some spots available on Sunday, January 29th. You'll get to play with a lot of this fun new stuff then! To order these products, visit my 24/7 online store at http://www.pennythomas.stampinup.net/ and click on "Shop Now." Have a great day!

Are you Wondering Where I am?

In case you're wondering why I haven't posted anything lately on my blog, it's because I am currently cutting paper like a little fiend for a HUGE downline event I'm having on Saturday. It's called my Top Picks Day! It is my opportunity to thank, celebrate, and recognize those demonstrators in The TOPICS! who achieved extraordinary things between the time period of July 1st, 2011 and December 31st, 2011. I am so excited about this event, but it's LOTS of paper cutting for a large number of people, so you KNOW I'm lovin' my QCM-1200E Heavy-Duty Paper Cutter! When I can come up for air, I'll start posting again!

Every Little Bit Card Sample

Do you have Christmas thank-you notes you need to send? Here's a real quickie that is so cute! The inspiration for this came from Leanne Pugliese. I just changed it to our notecard size. Add a 1/2" strip of our Red Glimmer Paper and the cute little ornament from "Every Little Bit," and you've got a super-sweet thank-you note. The greeting is from "Delightful Dozen." I used the 1" Circle Punch and the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. The card stock is Old Olive and Whisper White. I added some tiny pearls to dress up the ornament and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up! Nice thing is, all of the cute little stamps in "Every Little Bit" could be used for this card, giving you lots of flexibility with any notes you need to send! Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

During the Christmas holidays, I have to make gingerbread cookies or my son will explode! He absolutely LOVES gingerbread cookies and it wouldn't be Christmas for him without them! Since I had to make some anyway, I thought it would be a good opportunity to give my Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps a try - and I was very pleased with the outcome. I was nervous, but it was much easier than I anticipated and I think they are so cute! So now, with Valentine's Day coming up, I'll have to try the heart cookie stamp. If you'd like to order the cookie stamps, the item number is 125152 for the Jack-O-Lantern, the snowflake, and the heart. Coming up on January 4th, you'll also be able to order item number 127081, which has a bunny, a flower, and a clover stamp to celebrate spring. The sets are $16.95 each. Sugar Cookie Factory

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! I HOPE YOUR 2012 IS EVERYTHING YOU WANT IT TO BE!
This is my daughter Haley (acting goofy) icing some sugar cookies she made during the holidays! She used her Aunt Pam's fabulous sugar cookie recipe, which I've shared below. We had fun this Christmas baking in the kitchen together and her sugar cookies turned out so good! Add a little confectioners' sugar icing, and you're in heaven!
Aunt Pam's Sugar Cookie Recipe
2/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons milk
2 cups sifted flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add egg; beat till light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour. On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/8-inch thickness. Chill other half until ready to use. Cut in desired shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan. Ice with confectioners' sugar icing colored with food dye. YIELD: 2 dozen
